Meet Our Operations Team

Miriam Niemi

Miriam Niemi (Executive Director)

Miriam has been a resident of King George County for 16 years with a passion for serving her community. She and her husband have five children, and Miriam has become deeply involved in various non-profit organizations, embodying her belief in the importance of community service. Currently she serves as a preschool specials teacher for the King George YMCA. Miriam brings her commitment to education and child development to her professional role.

 

In addition to her work at the YMCA, Miriam has held and continues to hold leadership positions in several non-profit organizations, including President of the King George Preschool PTA, Vice President of the PTA at Sealston Elementary, and Cub Scout committee chair and Den leader for eight and five years, respectively.

Miriam’s dedication to community involvement extends beyond education and youth development; she also serves as the Relief Society President for the King George chapter, providing support and humanitarian aid through one of the oldest women’s organizations in the United States. Miriam’s contributions to her community also include serving as a board member for the Continuum of Care, where she works to address issues of homelessness and housing insecurity. With her recent role as Cub Scout Cub Master, Miriam continues to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in King George County. Through her tireless efforts and commitment to service, Miriam exemplifies the values of leadership, compassion, and community engagement.
